2024 IEDA Summer School

The Industrial Engineering and Data Analytics (IEDA) Summer School, sponsored by the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University, is a 10-day summer school aimed at providing participants with a general idea about Industrial Engineering and Data Analytics as well as a basic understanding on the systematic operation mode of Chinese industries. It offers the opportunity to take some Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, and Engineering Management courses/lectures while exploring significant enterprises of Chinese logistics and manufacturing in Beijing, Tianjin and some other cities in China.


The IEDA Summer School consists of 6 days courses/lectures at Tsinghua University in Beijing and 4 days Industrial Immersion Class in Beijing, Tianjin and other cities in China. The curriculum includes visits to manufacturing/logistics hubs and the studies of Chinese culture and society. Overall, the Summer School offers a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in Chinese industry, culture, society, and academics through both travel and in-residence experiences.

III. Qualification

An applicant should be a non-Chinese citizen and in their second- or third-year undergraduate (sophomore or junior year, or about to enter their senior year) study in engineering, data science, management or related areas.

July, 5, 2024 - July, 14, 2024 (Beijing time)


V. Costs

1. RMB 2000/student. The Summer School charge covers tuition, on-campus housing, transportation in China, insurances. Personal expenses, such as international trip, meals, passport and visa fees are not covered.

2. Scholarship opportunities are available according to the applicant’s merits.


VI. How to Apply

1. Supporting Documents

a) Personal Statement including curriculum vitae, research interest and experience.

b) An official academic transcript and schooling certificate.

c) Copy of the personal information page from the passport.

d) For non-native English speakers, please provide results for English Proficiency test (TOEFL ≥ 85 or IELTS ≥ 6.5)
